Dec 9, 2020

The Ondo State Head of Service, Mr Dare Aragbaiye has charged ODSIP Change Ambassadors and civil servants to place maximum value on their healthcare.

Speaking at the 3rd quarterly meeting with the ODSIP ambassadors in Akure, Mr Aragbaiye who assured that the public service will continue to reinvent for greater efficiency introduced them to the newly launched contributory health scheme.

Ondo service improvement programme, ODSIP which was unveiled about a year ago was introduced to facilitate a new paradigm in service delivery.

He said with the 2020 elections over, the ambassadors should shun all forms of distractions while intensifying efforts on the reform activities and initiatives.

Mrs Bukola Apoola who represented the contributory health scheme explained that the scheme will not only help put an end to catastrophic health management but also ensure equitable healthcare for the working group both in the formal and informal sector.

The health insurance scheme which is an employer-employee contributory health programme was signed into law in Ondo state in February 2018 as a compulsory contribution.

The officials of the ODCHS who sought the support of change ambassadors in deepening the message however made it known that the modality for the contribution is yet to be worked out in the State Public Service.

The Secretary, Reform office, Mr Gbenga Akingbasote who lauded the efforts of the Head of Service on the ODSIP programme said the essence of the reform is to do things better, to the benefit of taxpayers.
