Ondo poll: Awe Bode, Sule Maito and APC defeat in their polling units

Oct 16, 2020

The just concluded October 10 gubernatorial election in Ondo State is a test of one’s popularity.

This is evident in the clear margin recorded by His Excellency, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, (APC).

BUT the reverse was the case in the units of some self acclaimed popular politicians.

It was reliably gathered that one Mr Awe Bode aka Bode the way, the candidate of the Zenith Labour Party ( ZLP) in the last House of Assembly Election who just decamped to APC at the wake of last governorship lost to the opponent in his unit, Ogbagi ward 6 in Akoko North West, Araromi Unit 7.

Pix: Hon Maito.

The former majority leader of the state House of Assembly, Hon Jamiu Suleiman Maito also got defeated by the PDP in his polling unit at Arigidi-Akoko.

At Maito’s unit in Arigidi ward 2, unit 2, Akeredolu’s APC scored 56votes to suffer defeat as PDP got 90votes and ZLP had 26votes.

An analyst said, “Other self-acclaimed giant stalwart of our great party who lost their units include the unit of a sitting APC lawmaker, Hon Sulaiman Maito of Arigidi ward 2, unit 2 in constituency 1, as well as the unit of the former caretaker Chairman, Dare Kolade aka DK of ward 6 Ogbagi Akoko both in Akoko North West.

Indeed the election is one of its kind that lowers the dignity of fake people.
