As preparations for the October 10 governorship election in ondo state continues to hot up, “My Choice Group” on Saturday 26th September unveiled a N5Million Loan to members of the group which cuts across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State.
At the elaborate ceremony held in Akure, the founder of the group, Hon. (Princess) Omowunmi Olatunji- Ohwovoriole said the idea of giving out interest free loans was to empower members of the group who are into petty trading saying those who are eligible will be entitled to a maximum of a N100,000 loan.
Hon. Princess Ohwovoriole who said the group was conceptualized to touch people’s lives and as such it will continue to groom its members to live a life of impact wherever they find themselves, urged members to remain committed to the vision of the group which is to live a life of impact.
While recounting that the name – ‘ My Choice’ came during an encounter where youths stood to defend her candidature for the State House of Assembly saying she was their choice against a prominent leader who was against the idea.
On some of the achievements of the group since 2007 when it was established, Hon. Princess Ohwovoriole said many have benefited from its educational scholarship programmes, foreign trips for heart treatment in India, employment for youth in “LIRS”, “LASTMA’ ,etc as well as hip replacement among others saying members can now access free health at a designated hospital.
At the event which also had over 2,000 members in attendance, Hon. Princess Ohwovoriole also spoke on her antecedents in Lagos, saying the Lagos chapter of the group has produced councilors, vice chairmen of council, House of Assembly Member and as such those with political intention must come forward and identify themselves.
On the coming election, Hon. Princess.Ohwovoriole urged members to rally support and vote for Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in the October 10 election.
The climax of the event however was the inauguration of state, senatorial and local government executives across the 18 local government areas of the state.
