Breaking: Iroju impeached as Ondo Deputy Speaker, Aderoboye elected

The Ondo state house of Assembly has impeached the deputy speaker, Hon. Iroju Ogundeji.

At the House plenary on Tuesday, Iroju representing Odigbo constituency 1 was impeached following the house resolutions led by the speaker, Rt. Hon. Bamidele Oloyelogun.

He was immediately replaced by Hon. Samuel Aderoboye.

Aderoboye, a former Deputy Speaker during Adefarati’s regime, is from Odigbo Constituency 2 while Iroju is from Odigbo Constituency 1

Iroju was impeached on the ground of gross misconduct which has brought disrepute the hallowed chamber.

It was learnt that twenty lawmakers signed the impeachment.

Following the reconstitution of the House, Hon. Tomide Akinribido from ZLP has been removed as the minority whip and replaced by Hon. Festus Akingbaso from PDP while Hon. Ogunmolasuyi is the new majority leader to replace Jamiu Maito.

Hon.Taofeek Oladele is now the new chief whip in replacement of Adeyemi Olayemi.

In another news, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu will present to the State House of Assembly 2021 budget on Friday.
