Residents of Idoani, a quiet town in Ose LGA of Ondo state may celebrate this year’s Sallah under tension as armed officers from a nearby Nigerian Navy Secondary School, Imeri are combing the town to fish out the killers of one of them who was grusomely murdered by some suspected hoodlums over minor argument.
To this end, many able men and women have deserted the town for fear of arrest while the aged ones who can not run have to hide indoors.
Trouble stated on Monday, 26/6/2023 when a young man simply identified as Ayo Ogogo and his gang allegedly hacked the Naval officer to death with iron rod following argument.
According to eyewitness, the yet to be identified young officer was said to have mistakingly splashed water on one of the gangstars along Unity road, Idoani while on bike and immediately waited to tender apology.
The suspected cultists numbering about five were said to have turned down the apology and immediately descended on the officer while one of them reportedly hit the deseased with iron rod on the head before they ran away.
All effort to save the life of the victim by sympathizers proved abortive as he could not make it to the General Hospital, Idoani.

According to the council boss, Idoani community leaders are currently meeting with a view to sending emissary to the Naval School at Imeri to pacify the authority.
