…Initiative ‘ll reduce multiplicity of revenue collector visiting business premises – Adegbie
As part of efforts to make tax payment easier, Ondo State Internal Revenue service has launched a Consolidated Demand Notice Scheme which will reduce the multiplicity of revenue collector visiting business premises.
The state revenue collection agency has also unveiled a rebranded website: www.odirs.ng, to enhance Smooth service delivery to taxpayers.
This event was another landmark signposting the resolve of government to making tax payment easy through the Ondo State internal revenue service.
In furtherance of this, there was the launch of a home grown rebranded user friendly website of the revenue agency which provides a one stop shop for taxpayers to access information as well as make seamless payment.
The Ondo State internal revenue service also unveiled a consolidated demand notice which combines annual rate, levy fee permit among others payable by business owners and organisations.
The Chairman of ODIRS Mr Tolu Adegbie said the initiative will reduce the multiplicity of revenue collector visiting business premises
Adegbie noted that the pilot test of the Consolidated Demand Notice will be utilized by hotels, banks and petrol stations.
“The new initiative tagged Consolidated Demand Notice is meant to Consolidate annual rate levy permit and other levies into single assessment payable by business owners and corporate organization to reduce to bearest minimum multiplicity of revenue collectors visiting such business premises.
Revenue head captured in CDN include business supervise by ministry of commerce, Annual signage permit supervised by Ondo state Signage and advertisement agency, Emission fee supervised by ministry of Environment, fire certificate fee supervised by ministry of infrastructure, land and housing.”
Top government officials in attendance including the Commissioner for Finance, Wale Akinterinwa, Director General of Project Performance and Implementation Monitoring Unit, Babajide Akeredolu commended ODIRS for the initiatives.
The chairman Association of local government of Nigeria in Ondo state, Mr Augustine Oloruntogbe and a tax consultant Akinyele Oladeji said the new developments will drive tax collection in the grassroots without no additional burden.
