Tackling Environmental Issues, Gov. Aiyedatiwa Promises full Support for Maximum Benefit.

The Ondo State Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has promised to give his full support to solving environmental issues of the state through the Nigeria Climate Adaptation, Erosion, and Watershed Project to be funded by the European Investment Bank.

Governor Ayedatiwa gave the assurance while hosting the Federal Project team who were in the state to access Ondo NEWMAP readiness, challenges and gaps in solving Environmental issues in the state.

The governor who described the Ayetoro sea incursion as one of the major concern and yarning of his administration said no stone would be left unturned to reclaim the lost land into the sea and to organise resettlement plan for the people of the area.

Governor Ayedatiwa said, though the Ayetoro sea incursion is of a global concern and one of the major worry for the Federal government solicited the support of the NEWMAP-EIB Project in any form to make life worth living for the people of the area.

In his words, the National Project Cordinator of the NEWMAP-EIB Engr. Ayuba Anda, who led the five man delegation team to the state lauded the commitment of the state government in meeting up with the needed requirement and ensuring full participation in the project.

While recalling the impact of NEWMAP projects on the state, the National Cordinator said all the approved sites for the state were a hundred percent completed with no job left unattended to due to the dogedness of the state Project unit and support of the state government.

While scoring other state participation in the project, he said that out of the five conditions highlighted by the project to be credit effective, Ondo state government had surpassed other participating states in addressing the pressing issues of erosion and watershed management in the state.
