Rotary International Akure Prestige Club Donates to School for the Deaf, Declares Star Project

The Rotary International Akure Prestige Club has visited the School for the Deaf in Akure as part of the official declaration of its star project for the current Rotary year.

The event, held on the school premises, brought together Rotarians and hearing-impaired students in a moment of compassion, support, and purposeful engagement.

During the visit, the Rotarians interacted with the students and toured the school facilities, including the hostel, which was noted to be in dire need of renovation.

A major highlight of the visit was the donation of a brand-new grinding machine to support the school’s daily operations.

The gesture was accompanied by words of encouragement, with the club urging the school to put the equipment to good use.

President-Elect Dauda Ajibade shared insights into the club’s rich history and its founding mission to support government initiatives, promote leadership, and drive positive change in the community.

He emphasized that the visit to the School for the Deaf is a reflection of the club’s commitment to sustainable community development.

Outgoing President Victor Adegoke, alongside other Rotarian members, outlined a continuity plan to ensure the successful execution of the star project.

With the project now approved, the club is poised to deliver lasting impact not just to the school, but to the wider Akure community.

Principal of the School, Taiwo Makinde, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Rotary Club of Akure Prestige, praising their dedication to enhancing the educational experience of hearing-impaired students.

In appreciation, the students gave a captivating performance, showcasing their talents and resilience, an act that moved and inspired many of the visiting Rotarians.
