President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm Easter greetings to Christians across Nigeria and around the world, calling on citizens to embrace the values of sacrifice, redemption, love, and hope, which the season symbolizes.
In a statement released by the State House on Easter Sunday, President Tinubu reflected on the significance of the Holy Week and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the vision of a “Renewed Hope” for Nigeria.
“As President of our blessed nation, I draw inspiration from this timeless message of hope and renewal,” he said. “I remain steadfast in my commitment to delivering the promise of a better, more just, and prosperous Nigeria for all.”
Tinubu addressed recent security challenges that have led to the loss of lives in some parts of the country, expressing deep sadness over the incidents. He assured Nigerians that his administration is intensifying efforts to restore peace and security.
“I have given clear directives to the Armed Forces and all relevant security agencies to end insecurity decisively and without delay,” he said. “With the unwavering courage and commitment of our gallant men and women in uniform, we are turning the tide and making steady progress.”
The President also acknowledged the economic difficulties facing Nigerians but expressed optimism about ongoing recovery efforts. He reiterated his government’s resolve to stabilize key sectors and build an inclusive economy.
“We understand the economic challenges many of you are facing,” Tinubu said. “We are working tirelessly to restore investor confidence, stabilize key sectors, and build an economy that serves all Nigerians.”
On the international front, Tinubu joined the global Christian community in thanking God for the recovery of Pope Francis, expressing hope that the pontiff’s renewed strength will continue to guide his global ministry.
The President concluded his message with a call for national unity and perseverance.
“Just as Christ triumphed over death, so too shall our country triumph over every challenge we face,” he said. “Our unity and resilience are our greatest strengths.”
He wished all Nigerians a peaceful and joyful Easter celebration.
