Police DIG Jeep crunches Okada rider to death in Ondo

A car allegedly belonging to a senior Police officer has knocked down a-yet-to-be-identified man, who died on the spot along Akure-Ondo Expressway in Bolorunduro, the headquarters of the Ondo East Local Government Area of Ondo State.
It was gathered that the vehicle is owned by a serving Deputy Inspector General of Police.
It was further leant that the DIG, whose identity has not been revealed, was however not in the Toyota Land Cruiser Jeep when the accident occurred on Sunday, but some of his aides were present.
A source said a commercial motorcyclist was allegedly hit on the road by the jeep and was said to have died instantly while the jeep swerved off the road.
A source said, “The DIG was in Lagos and he sent his ‘boys’ to go and bring the jeep from Akure but the vehicle had an accident on the way to Lagos.”
The Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Mr Tee-Leo Ikoro, confirmed the incident.
