The Muslim Community of Owo Kingdom has released details of the final burial rites for its late spiritual leader, Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Olagoke Aladesawe, describing him as a towering cleric whose lifetime of service left an indelible mark on Islam in Ondo State and beyond.
In a statement issued in Owo by Alhaji Jamiu Afolabi Ekungba, Baba Adini of Owo Kingdom, and Alhaji Sheikh Abdurauf Iwalesin, Naibul-Imam of Owo, the community said the programmes will begin with a Special Fidau Prayer on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Owo, starting at 10:00 a.m.
The session is reserved for the immediate family, Owo Muslim Community, and the Council of Imams and Alfas in Owo Local Government.
A larger National Fidau Prayer will follow on Saturday, October 25, 2025, also at Ansar-Ud-Deen Comprehensive High School, Owo, from 10:00 a.m.
The prayer will be led by Sheikh Jamiu Kewulere, President-General of the League of Imams and Alfas for the Southwest, Edo and Delta States, alongside other prominent Islamic leaders and monarchs.
The event will be hosted by the Executive Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, with dignitaries and Muslim faithful expected from across the Southwest, Edo and Delta States.
While announcing the arrangements, the Muslim community conveyed its profound gratitude to all who offered prayers, condolence messages, and attended the Janazah of the late cleric.
“We sincerely appreciate the overwhelming support, especially the large turnout at the interment of our spiritual father. May Allah reward you abundantly for the honour done to us,” the statement said.
Sheikh Aladesawe, who passed on earlier this month, was until his death the Chief Imam of Owo, Chairman of the League of Imams and Alfas, Ondo State, and Secretary-General of the League of Imams and Alfas in the Southwest, Edo and Delta States.
The community prayed that Allah forgive the late sage, expand his grave, and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
