The June 5 terror attack in Owo, Ondo State, Nigeria which left many worshippers at St Francis Catholic Church dead remain a bitter pill to swallow especially as it affected people of different strata and categories.

For Mr Segun Olalehin, a boxer who has won laurels for the state in various national competitions including sports festivals, the agony of losing both parents to the attack remains a permanent set back.

Speaking after the incident which claimed his parents, Mr Olalehin said it will be difficult for him to recover from the agony as he still cannot believe that both parents are gone.

“Am shattered and devastated, I can’t believe that both Daddy and Mummy are no more. This is a very difficult moment for me as am not comfortable staying in Nigeria”.

He appealed to Nigerian government to help solve security challenges facing the nation and the people as many lives are being lost on daily basis to activities of bandits and boko haram.

“Nigeria is not safe again, we are not sure of our future as things are falling apart. The center can no longer hold as the security situation is becoming more worrisome.”

He commended the efforts of Ondo State government towards securing the state and its people and called for more concerted efforts to win the fight against insecurity.
