…… Warns Criminals To Stay Off The Area or Be Smoked Out.
The Ose local government, Ifon in Ondo state has vowed to take every legitimate steps to stamp out all act of lawlessness and criminality in the area.
The executive chairman of the local government, Hon. (Prince) Adekunle Dennis (FCPA) gave the assurance at the commencement of distribution of relief materials to some victims of violent attacks at Molege, Arimogija and Ute recently.
According to the chairman, the council with the assistance of the state government are doing everything possible not to only apprehend the perpetrators of the dastardly act but make the area uncomfortable for criminals to operate.
While consoling the families of those who lost their loved ones to the brutal attacks, Hon. Adekunle charged the survivors not to be deterred by the temporary setback saying, all hands are on deck to resettle them so that they can start their normal lives as soon as possible.
As he put it, “the state and the council will not leave you alone at this difficult period, we will do everything humanly possible to assist you and put you back on strong footing, as you all know, this administration is reputed for fulfilling it promises hence the nick name ‘talk and do’ government. I can therefore assure that government will not renege on it promise to assist in rebuilding your homes so that you can quickly go back to your farming and trading businesses to prevent food insecurity next year” Adekunle said.
He concluded that the state government has beefed up security within and across the local government area with the return of military personnel on roads and other flashpoints to ward off the invaders with a view to preventing further attack or possible breakdown of law and order.
He therefore appealed to the residents especially the youths from the affected areas to eschew violence so that they won’t give the criminals opportunity to cause more havoc.
Addressing the beneficiaries, the Olute, Oba Adetunji Oluwole Akinrogbe represented by Akarigbo of Ute land, Chief Felix Olabode said Oba Akinrogbe is ready than ever before to give the victims more royal protection and support.
Some of the beneficiaries who could not hide their joy over the government’s magnanimity said, the gestures and assurances will go a long way to restore their confidence, freedom of movement and right to stay anywhere in part of the country to do their legitimate businesses without fear of molestation or harassment.
They therefore appealed passionately to government at all levels to further assist them in rebuilding their homes set ablaze by the bandits during the coordinated bloody attacks that claimed about four lives at Okeluse, Molege and Arimogija.
Items distributed include Rice, Beans, Red/Vegetable Oil, Bedsheets, Mattresses and other relief materials.
