The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, has congratulated Mr. Idowu Ajanaku on his appointment and official inauguration as the new Commissioner for Information and Orientation in the state.
In a statement jointly signed by the State Chairman, Prince Leke Adegbite, and the State Secretary, Comrade Olaoluwa Meshack, the union described Ajanaku’s appointment as a “round peg in a round hole,” expressing confidence in his capacity to steer the ministry effectively.
The NUJ noted that Ajanaku, a seasoned journalist, is well-positioned to harness the media’s potential to advance public enlightenment and promote the developmental agenda of the state government.
The statement further affirmed the readiness of journalists in the state to support the new commissioner in achieving smooth and effective information management, ensuring that government programmes and policies are well communicated to the public.
The union also called on the commissioner to cultivate a robust working relationship with media professionals in the state, stressing that such collaboration is key to fostering a harmonious relationship between the government and the media.
The NUJ pledged its cooperation and support for the success of the commissioner’s tenure, aimed at building a more informed society.
