The importance of adequate time for relaxation and recreation after a busy work schedule has again been emphasized.

The Ondo State Head of Service, Mr. Bayo Philip, made this known while commissioning new and renovated facilities at the Ondo State Senior Staff Club in Akure, the state capital.

Mr. Philip commended the Executive Committee of the club, led by its President, Dr. Olayemi Browne, for transforming the club’s infrastructure for the benefit of workers in the state.

He urged members to make effective use of the facilities for recreation and stress relief after their demanding work routines.

He attributed the achievements in the club’s development to the focused leadership of past executives and called on the incoming administration to build on the progress made under Dr. Browne by adding their own contributions to the club’s continued growth.

While expressing appreciation to the State Governor, Hon. Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for his supportive disposition towards the state’s workforce, the Head of Service reaffirmed the present administration’s commitment to enhancing the club’s facilities through necessary upgrades.

The highlight of the event was the official commissioning of a newly built 10-room chalet named Hon. Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa Chalet, along with two renovated bars – The Head of Service Bar and Prince Ade Okiki Bar, all within the club premises.

In his welcome address, the Club President, Dr. Olayemi Browne, expressed delight at the successful completion of the chalet project, which he said was named in honour of the governor for his commitment to infrastructural development and people-centred leadership.

With his tenure ending later this week, Dr. Browne appealed to the state government to support the incoming club leadership in executing more projects, including the asphalting of the remaining parts of the club premises, among other needs.

The event also featured the presentation of awards to distinguished individuals. Mr. Bayo Philip received the Public Service Excellence Award, Dr. Olayemi Browne was honoured with the Distinguished Leadership Award, while Mr. Opeyemi Akoledowo was named Staff of the Year.
