The convener of IBI GIGA AMBASSADORS CHIEF Alex Ajipe has assured the residents of Ologede/Eyin Ala community in Akure, the Ondo state capital of government urgent intervention reconstructing the collapsed Ala bridge which was washed away by flood as a result of a recent downpours.
Ajipe who was accompanied to the scene by IBI GIGA AMBASSADORS team, sympathized with the residents of Ologede Landlord Association over the unfortunate incident and expressed concern on how the bridge linking Ologede / Eyin Ala, and Leo Street together was completely washed away thereby making life more difficult to residents of the area.
Ala Bridge is the only bridge linking residents of Ologede and Eyin Ala to Leo area of Akure.
Ajipe who is also the CEO of Klick Konnect Networks, immediately put a call across to the Hon. Commissioner for works and his permanent secretary to brief them about the bridge at the presence of the landlord association where it was confirmed that the bridge has been awarded.
”I ‘m shocked at the level of damaged cause by this flood which resulted to the collapsed of this bridge.
”this is the only road that linked Ologede, Eyin Ala to other areas like Leo, High school with over 1000 houses
”this is a serious problem and that’s why I put a call across to the Hon. Commissioner for works and the permanent secretary and they both assure me that the bridge has been awarded and work will start here very soon but I will also take it up.
“I won’t relent until this bridge is completed. thank God we have a listening and hard working Governor whom am very confident he will do something urgently,” Ajipe added.
Speaking to newsmen at the scene, one of the landlord in the area Mr Akinbami Akinsiji said the community has spend a lot in constructing the bridge at many occasions but still, they are yet to find solutions to it because anytime rain fall, it will be washed away.
He thanked chief Ajipe for coming to their aid and also beg him not to relent in his efforts to make sure the bridge is attended to on time because if not done on time, it may cut off the whole area completely.
He also said the visit by chief Ajipe has rekindle their hope because of several letters they have written to the government without any positive result.
