The Senior Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Community Engagement (Central), Hon. Femi Fadairo, on Thursday undertook an on-the-spot assessment of dilapidated roads in Akure West Local Council Development Authority (LCDA), following a formal request by the council’s leadership.
The inspection comes days after the management of Akure West LCDA paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Fadairo’s office to report widespread infrastructural decay in the area and to seek swift government intervention.
Fadairo was accompanied on the inspection by the Chairman of Akure West LCDA, Hon. Sunday Adejuyigbe, who led the delegation through key communities affected by poor road conditions and perennial flooding, especially during the rainy season. The visit is said to be in line with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s directive to address infrastructure gaps and accelerate development across the state.
“This visit is a direct instruction from Mr. Governor in response to the LCDA’s call for urgent attention,” said Hon. Fadairo during the tour. “Our goal is to evaluate the situation firsthand and begin the process of facilitating government action to alleviate the suffering of residents.”
The team visited several communities including Ajibamidele Isinkan, Danjuma, Agunloye, Fanibi, Talk of the Town, Eruoba, and the Onibode Custom Area, where residents came out in large numbers to welcome the officials. Jubilant community members praised Governor Aiyedatiwa for responding to their plight and described the inspection as timely and reassuring.
Party leaders, including the Akure South APC Chairman, Hon. Fesobi Akinmolayan, and Vice Chairman of Akure West LCDA, Hon. Dare Adeniyi, were also part of the entourage. Residents expressed renewed hope and trust in the government, urging quick implementation of intervention measures.
Speaking after the tour, Hon. Adejuyigbe commended the governor’s aide for acting swiftly on the council’s concerns. He said the prompt response reflects the commitment of the Aiyedatiwa-led administration to grassroots development and inclusive governance.
“This visit shows that our concerns are being heard at the highest level,” Adejuyigbe stated. “We are confident that action will follow and relief will come to our people soon.”
The inspection is expected to pave the way for government attention to the affected communities, many of which have endured years of neglect and environmental challenges.
