The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) says it would conduct free and credible local government congress across the state.
In a statement by the publicity secretary of the party, Alex Kalejaye, the party put lies to the rumour making the rounds that there is discordant between the party state chairman. Engr Ade Adetimehin and the southern senatorial chairman, Dr Deji Oyedele over list.
“We read with mild dismay a claim that the party secretariat is in crisis over notional disagreement between the State Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, and southern senatorial Chairman, Dr. Deji Oyedele.
The party wishes to inform members that the claim is baseless and imaginary. The duo were together, with other members of the State Working Committee (SWC), on Wednesday at the Secretariat, where they were addressed by the Congress Committee from Abuja.
The preoccupation of the SWC, led by Engr. Adetimehin, is to ensure credible congress, believing that a rancour free primaries starts therefrom.
It is pertinent to amplifier the fact that the state chairman has no interest whatsoever in who makes the list from any local government area. His position has been that, “Leaders should provide conducive atmosphere for credible congress in all the 203 wards”.
The party wishes to alert members that the era of crude blackmailing and gross misinformation is here, and should therefore be ready to discard them as they surface.
The purported story, without attribution, is clearly the handwork of elements that do not mean well for the cohesion and unity of the party in the state.
We want to assure the authors and their co-travellers that the state secretariat would not be distracted by their myopic strategies, in its resolve to pursue equity and fairness in the interest of the chapter.”
