The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed reports suggesting internal divisions within the party, reaffirming its unity and strength under the leadership of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Alex Kalejaye, the APC described a recent publication alleging a brewing political crisis as “a fabrication” and “a product of wicked imagination.”
The publication, authored anonymously, had claimed that the State APC Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, met with local government party chairmen in Abuja and made strategic decisions ahead of the 2027 elections, supposedly without the governor’s involvement.
Kalejaye refuted the claim, stating categorically that no such meeting took place in Abuja and that the local government chairmen were equally shocked by the report. He emphasized that all major decisions in the party are made with the consent and endorsement of the governor, who remains the undisputed leader of the party in the state.
“Ondo APC is not polarized; rather, it is waxing stronger and more united under Governor Aiyedatiwa,” the statement read. “The party is known for cohesion and stability, and we urge our members and stakeholders to disregard the mischievous report.”
Kalejaye also called on APC leaders and supporters in the state to remain committed to the party’s objectives, noting that the governor is focused on delivering physical and economic development to Ondo State. He urged for a supportive environment to enable the implementation of the administration’s development agenda.
“The state chapter will continue to pursue goals that promote the well-being of our members and the state at large,” he concluded.
The statement appears to be aimed at quelling growing speculations about internal political maneuvers as the 2027 general elections begin to take shape.
