***Urges Actors to find Productive Work Outside Politics
Amid growing political wrangling championed by some masked aides of the Ondo State Governor, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress party in the state, Mr. Moyosola Niran-Oladunni has called for decorum, warning actors of such to stop distracting the Governor and allow him to focus on governance.
Expressing displeasure over the wave of distrust among members of the governor’s team, he described the ongoing agitation against the Commissioner for Finance as unnecessary and a distraction from the administration’s developmental agenda.
Niran-Oladunni emphasized that the governor has the constitutional prerogative to appoint or remove any official as he deems fit, and any attempt to pressure him into making changes would only derail progress.
“The call for the removal of the Commissioner for Finance is totally uncalled for. It only suggests that the needed cohesion amongst the team members to support Mr. Governor in delivering on his electoral promises is not total,” he averred.
He further condemned the “political immaturity” displayed by some masked sacked aides of the governor who are fueling media attacks against the Finance commissioner, stressing that undue interference in governance matters is unhealthy for the state’s progress.
Niran-Oladunni advised actors of the ongoing politically-motivated imbroglio to look for legitimate source of living outside politics, adding that politics should not be seen as a lifelong profession but rather as a platform for service.
“Our people should learn how to be tolerant. The challenge with most of our players in Ondo State is redundancy. An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.
“A greater number of our people are redundant. They are jobless. Hence, they have all the time to be planning how to pull others down. People should get busy and find something to do. Politics is a past time and not a profession as most people take it these days”. He advised.
He, therefore, urged all political actors and citizens to support the governor in implementing his policies rather than engaging in unnecessary distractions that could hinder the administration’s ability to fulfill its promises to the people.
