A prominent chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon Segun Sowunmi has declared that Nigerians will continue to vote against the All Progressives Congress (APC) in any election including the forthcoming October 10 governorship election in Ondo state as a result of various obnoxious policies of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
The PDP stalwart noted that the people of ondo state are more determined to massively vote for the party’s governorship candidate, Eyitayo Jegede to bring succour to them after three and half years of anti-people policies of Akeredolu’s administration.
Speaking with journalists in Akure, the state capital, Sowunmi pointed out that with recent astronomic hike in the fuel price and electricity tariff by the Buhari’s administration after several month of COVID-19 lockdown, it was cleared to Nigerians now that the APC government had nothing to offer them positively.

He also expressed displeasure over high cost of education and health care delivery in ondo state since Akeredolu assumed office, berating the governor for destroying the legacy of Dr Olusegun Mimiko’s administration in the area of free education, free health for pregnant women and children, construction of markets.
Sowunmi said the Akeredolu led administration had not done for him to get people’s mandate again.
SUNSHINETRUTH had reported that the Minister of State for Niger-Delta affairs, Senator Tayo Alasoadura said that Eyitayo Jegede was wasting his time and resources as he can not win the the gubernatorial race since the PDP candidate is from Ondo central senatorial district like Dr Olusegun Mimiko who spent eight years.
Sowunmi described the minister’s outburst as uncivilized comment and a mere primordial sentiment that would not make people to change their mind in supporting Jegede.
The PDP Chieftain stated that the just concluded Edo state governorship election remains the minimum template that should be used to conduct credible election in ondo state, insisting that Jegede was well-positioned to emerge victorious in the polls.
He stressed that the PDP leadership was working round the clock to still bring former Governor Olusegun Mimiko on board to support before the October election
Sowunmi said, “It is impossible for APC to win any election in Nigeria at this time due to bad policies by Buhari at the national level, look at the hike in fuel price and electricity tariff;
“And also Governor Akeredolu cancelled payment of WAEC fees for students, no more free education, no more free healthcare for pregnant women, Mother and Child Hospitals in this state are dead.
“Everywhere we go in ondo state to campaign, the people received our candidate, Eyitayo Jegede SAN with joy and happiness,” Sowunmi said.
