Dr. Olayide Adelami, Deputy Governor of Ondo State, has congratulated the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye II, on his appointment as Chairman of the Ondo State Council of Traditional Rulers.
The Deputy Governor described the Olowo as a distinguished monarch who has demonstrated exceptional leadership in traditional affairs, making him eminently qualified to lead the council.
“Kabiyesi, the Olowo of Owo, is an accomplished public servant who rose to the pinnacle of his career without blemish. Since ascending the throne as custodian of our culture and tradition, he has been truly phenomenal,” Adelami stated.
“I have no doubt that he will bring his wealth of experience, administrative acumen, and broad network to bear in repositioning the council for a greater Ondo State.”
Dr. Adelami also charged the Olowo with fostering unity and collaboration among traditional rulers to sustain peace and uphold Yoruba cultural values.
“The support of the traditional institution is crucial to our government, especially at this critical time. Kabiyesi, I urge you to rally fellow monarchs to collaborate closely with our administration in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our people where they live, work, and play,” he added.
The Deputy Governor expressed appreciation to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for the appointment and for his continued respect and support for the traditional institution.
“On behalf of the good people of Ondo State, I thank Mr. Governor for appointing the Olowo to lead the Council of Traditional Rulers. I also commend him for prioritizing the welfare of our royal fathers across the state,” he concluded.
