……PDP coffin will be calmly nailed —Tinubu
As Political power plays continue ahead of 2023 Presidential race, the Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state yesterday said his victory at the October 10, 2020 gubernatorial election will also see to it that Yoruba produces Nigerian President in the 2023 general election, SUNSHINETRUTH can report.
The Governor gave this indication at the Dome International event Centre Akure during an interactive session with traditional rulers in Ondo State and opinion leaders.
According to Akeredolu, there are underground efforts going on to ensure that bridges are built across various ethnic groups in Nigeria to pave the way for the emergence of an Oduduwa descendant to mount the Presidency in 2023.
He charged the traditional rulers to help mobilize their subjects towards achieving the goal.
Akeredolu said, “we made a solemn pledge on the day of inauguration that the welfare of the people would be the directive principle of state policy. We intimated our people that our intervention would be redemptive.
“We were not under any illusion that the task was going to be easy and the journey smooth. We were, however, resolute to make the difference. We recognized the potentials of a State most blessed and a people most hospitable, industrious and curious. We harboured no illusion that the task would be easy.
“This Administration has since been enjoying a warm relationship with the people of this State. This present state of affairs was achieved through trust built through transparency and a sincere approach to issues.
“The people have always occupied a central place in all decisions. It is our belief that any action taken on behalf of the people must be seen to be so.
“We have been able to contribute meaningfully to the development of our dear State, despite paucity of funds and other intervening variables which militate against our work plan. We have not made fantastic promises calculated to deceive and mislead. The people have connected with our style,” Akeredolu said.
Earlier, the Chairman of Ondo State Traditional Council and Olugbo of Ugbo, Oba Frederick Akinruntan listed various achievements of the present administration with an appeal that the government be given a second term to finish up its laudable programs.
Also speaking on the occasion , APC National Leader, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu who gave an assurance that APC would win both Ondo and National elections, prayed that the riotous scenario of 1983 would not repeat itself and called on all Oduduwa sons and daughters to unite.
Earlier while commissioning Ondo Revenue House, Akure, Asiwaju Tinubu cautioned against divisive tendency in the country.
“AMOTEKUN is a child of necessity. By the time all Nigerian Youths are gainfully employed, Amotekun will become a pet.
“Let me advise you especially we that are progressives, let us not toy with or use Nigeria’s unity as a campaign tool to appeal to emotions. Let us draw a line between politics and HYPOCRISY.
“We are not going to have anything to do with anyone whose strategy is to divide Nigeria.
“Even here in Ondo State, you don’t speak the same way, you have many dialects. You should be in the center of the fight for Nigeria’s unity. Let no-one deceive you, even teeth and tongue fight especially when the meal is delicious but do they go their separate ways and leave the mouth empty?
The APC leader also spoke about the main opposition party, PDP ahead of the governorship election in the state.
“Don’t fight the PDP. There is no point fighting a corpse inside the coffin, just settle down and calmly nail their coffin,” Tinubu said
