The member representing Ondo East/Ondo West Federal Constituency, in Ondo state, Hon. Abiola Makinde, and his wife, Dr. Rhoda Makinde, have distributed palliatives to rural women in Akure South and Idanre Local Government Areas of the state.
The distribution of the food items was the brain child of the Honourable Abiola Makinde and Dr Rhoda Makinde Initiative (HAMDROMI), a Non Governmental Organization.
The organisers also launched free medical health outreach for the people of the two local governments.
They explained that the programme was part of efforts to support the women at rural areas such as Isikan, Ijoka, Oke-Aro, Oda, Idanre, Alade, Ofosu, among others.
Addressing the beneficiaries, the organisers said the programme was borne out of the desire to cushion the effect of the prevailing economic hardship in the country especially women in the two Local Government Areas.
The duo, therefore, admonished the women to continue supporting the incumbent administration at all levels for more dividends of democracy.
The food items distributed include 25kg rice, beans, vegetable oil and among others.

Similarly, free medical outreach including free drugs for youths, elders and pregnant women in Akure was also organised by HAMDROMI.
Some of beneficiaries said the gesture would go a long way in imparting in their lives and as a sign of the passion for the love which the organisers have for the masses.
They thanked the sponsors for the noble gesture extended towards them and prayed for more of God’s blessings on them.
