The Iralepo of Isinkan Kingdom, in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ajimokunola Olofin-Adimula (Arulewolasi III) has installed a retired Warrant Officer in the Nigerian Army, Akinwumi Adekanbi Obe as the Olu of Oke-Ilero in Isinkan.
Though the traditional rites were done on the 16th of July, 2022, the new Olu has now completed the ita, orun and lje days rites as Isinkan custom demands.
He has also done the lwuye and now the Igbanujo which is the 90th day after his pronouncement as Olu in line with the customs and traditions of Isinkan.
During the Igbanujo ceremony at Ita-Owa in Iralepo’s palace on Saturday, Oba Olofin-Adimula charged the Olu to work vigorously for the economic transformation of Oke-ilero community of Isinkan.
While saying Isinkan is blessed with massive land, the Monarch asked the Olu to scout for genuine investors that will utilize the land potential for overall development of Isinkan kingdom and Ondo State in general.
He affirmed that he, Iralepo is the prescribed authority over Isinkan land and no one else.
“You are a Prince of this palace. Iralepo Arulewolasi gave the land Oke-ilero Ago Iralepo to your forefathers as leading Omowas. When your great grandfather lralepo Obe Atejioye ascended this throne after his own father Iralepo Ifagbade Ifatiri, he gave the large expanse to your grandfather Abidakun and his descendants for cultivation. So, it baffles me when someone is said to be laying claims to the land and attempting to install an Olu.”
“Permit me to reiterate that I will protect the land that belong to Isinkan. An inch of our land will not be ceded. It is our inheritance.”
“The state Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN at different fora had warned traditional rulers to stay in their domain. We are in our domain and no one can threaten us.”
Oba Olofin-Adimula enjoined Olu Adekanbi to always maintain peace in the area and co-exist with everyone in the community.
The Olu Akinwumi Adekanbi Obe thanked the Monarch for his consideration and promised to engender development in Isinkan Kingdom.
After the ceremony, the Olu and all the omowas, friends and chiefs moved to Oke-ilero community for celebration.
For Olu Akinwumi Adekanbi Obe, it was indeed a movement from the barracks to royalty.
