JUST IN: Iralepo of Isinkan Unveils Programmes of First Coronation Anniversary + PHOTOS

The palace of Iralepo of Isinkan in Akure south local government area of Ondo State has reeled off programmes to mark the first coronation anniversary of Isinkan Monarch, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ajimokunola Olofin-Adimula. (Arulewolasi III).

According to the programme of activities, there will be installation of Mr Muyiwa Aguda as Olu of Kajola community, Isinkan and Mrs Ayodele Ifedayo Janet as Iyalode of Isinkan Kingdom at Ita-Owa in Iralepo’s palace on the 4th of November, 2022.

On the same day, Oba Olofin-Adimula will launch education endowment foundation and present cheques to deserving students who are indigenes of Isinkan.

On Sunday, there will be a thanksgiving service at the Saint Thomas Anglican Church, Isinkan at 10am.

The ascension of Oba Oluwagbemiga Olofin-Adimula as monarch of the ancient town of Isinkan in Akure South Local Government area has brought so much excitement, vitality, innovation and hope to the Isinkan people, and all those living within the kingdom.

The community which shares boundary with Akure at Imogun is a pre-Oduduwa settlement that has maintained an independent traditional government and culture for generations.

The memory of the traditional coronation ceremony for Oba Olofin-Adimula is still vivid in the minds of many as residents plan to celebrate the first year on the throne in a remarkable way.

The new Iralepo of Isinkan, Oba Oluwagbemiga Olofin Adimula Arulewolasi III completed his traditional rites of ascension to the throne on the 4th of November, 2021.

He was crowned as the 38th on the Oralopo dynasty and the 49th Oba on the Obara dynasty and being circa 94th Oba of Isinkan.

He thereafter entered the ancient palace for Iba ceremony which saw the Uharefa, other Chiefs, the Omowas and several notable people in the society taking turn to pay homage amidst the resounding chant of ‘Uyi!’.

Earlier, the Monarch had concluded royal rites in Igbo Ooye, and visited Arogun’s compound where he and his daughter performed the rites of coronation with the three traditional beaded crowns.

Immediately after he was crowned, the new Iralepo climbed “Okiti Omolore” to the admiration of residents and well wishers.

On the 14th of July, 2022, the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu SAN formally visited Ita-Owa in Iralepo’s palace in Isikan where he presented the Instrument of Appointment and Staff of Office to the Monarch, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ajimokunola Olofin-Adimula (Arulewolasi III) amidst jubilation as the Oba of Isikan – being 49th on the Oroko dynasty, 38th on the Oralopo dynasty and 94th when the three regnal dynasties of Isikan were added less all female kings.

The governor who was represented by his Deputy, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa said “I wish to congratulate the Kabiyesi, His Royal Highness, Oba Olugbenga Ojo, the Iralepo of Isinkan on your ascension to the throne of your ancestors. I wish you many years of peaceful and successful reign over your people. I pray your reign shall usher in new development and progress for Isinkan Community.

Thereafter, the new Oba released his regnal names as Oluwagbemiga Ajimokunola Olofin-Adimula, in line with the tradition of the Isinkan monachy.
