A fire incident has razed a shopping complex at Ijoka area of Akure, destroying goods worth millions of naira.
No fewer than six shops were affected by the inferno which started at about midnight at Abusoro junction.
The cause of the fire incident could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.
The shop owners reportedly rely solely on solar source to provide electricity for the shops.
The owners who had stocked their shops with bags of rice, frozen chicken and turkey parts, among others for the Yuletide are now counting their losses.
The victims said they obtained loans to stock the shops and are now appealing to Nigerians and government to come to their aid.
