The final funeral rites for Madam Victoria Ayoola Akinjemowo, mother-in-law of former OSOPADEC board member, Hon. Kole Akinbolarin, fondly known as “Gangan” were held at the St. George’s Primary School field in the Idoma area of Ile-Oluji.
The event drew a large gathering of family, friends, political and community leaders, and media professionals.
Hon. Akinbolarin, a respected figure in Ondo State, is a former Chairman of Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo Local Government and a former Director of News and Current Affairs at the Ondo State Radiovision Corporation (OSRC).
Guests were treated to an abundance of food and drinks, with a live band on hand to provide entertainment and add glamour to the occasion.
The roll call of dignitaries included the Ladegbaye of Ile-Oluji, Chief Moses Adegeye; the Jomu of Bamikemo, High Chief Sunday Akinlosose; the Iya Ijo of Adekeye Memorial Anglican Church, Chief (Mrs) Comfort Edeniyi; the Iyaloja of Lipanu, Chief (Mrs) Adepoju; and the Iyaloja of Eyingun, Chief (Mrs) Adeboyejo.
Others in attendance were Chief (Mrs) Begbaji, also known as Sijuwade; Leader of the House, Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo Local Government Area, Hon. Iyabo Adefulire; former Director of Information Services at the Ondo State House of Assembly, Dr. Sehinde Fanokun; former General Manager of Breeze FM, Akure, Mr. Sunday Ajongbolo; former Special Assistant to Governor Aiyedatiwa on Media, Kikelomo Isijola; and Joseph Akinbamiji, Special Assistant to former Senator Nicholas Tofowomo. Also present were councillors and media practitioners from the local government.
In a show of gratitude, the deceased’s daughter, Mrs. Ikeade Akinbolarin, expressed heartfelt appreciation to all who attended the ceremony from far and near.
Hon. Kole Akinbolarin and his son, Segun Akinbolarin, also expressed their joy and satisfaction at the successful turnout and celebration of the life of their beloved matriarch.
