Glitz as Akeredolu’s Aide, Ademosu becomes 8th President of Lions Club + PHOTOS

The location was the International Center for Events and Culture in Akure the Ondo State capital.

The event was the Investiture of the new President of Akure Professionals Lions Club under District 404A1 of the Lions Club International in Nigeria.

At the event were members of the club from within and outside the state, top government functionaries in the state as well as friends of the international organisation from across the country.

They include, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, his deputy, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Chief of Staff to Governor, Chief Olugbenga Ale and Senior Special Assistant to President on Sustainable Development Goals, Princess Adejoke Oorelope-Adefulire.

Others are traditional authorities who include the Chairman of the state council of Obas and the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, the Olowa of Igbara-Oke, Oba Adefarakanmi Agbede, the Iralepo of Isikan, Oba Olugbenga Ajimokunola Arulewolasi III and the Elemo of Akure Land, High Chief Segun Adedipe.

The outgone President, Lion Sanya Adedipe said the organization founded to complement efforts of government at all levels has always played significant roles in attending to the plight of the less privileged in the society.

Adedipe emphasized that even though that projects were carried out with the admiration of the public and government, the organization is still financially equipped.

Similarly, a past Council Chairman of the Club, Lion Tokunbo Jegede said the task before the club remains a collective responsibility which requires the input of all well-meaning organisations.

Decorating the President, Lion Dr. (Mrs) Olubunmi Ademosu, the Ist Vice District Governor (2002-2003), Lion Kofoworola Jegede said the new assignment requires the support of her immediately family, her community and friends both in the private and public sectors.

In her acceptance speech, the President, Dr. Ademosu described the new assignment as a challenge to continue to play her part in contributing to the development of the society.

Ademosu who is also the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Intergovernmental Relations noted that various assignments being carried out in her official capacity are linked to human capacity development which are being executed across the state.

The President said compilation of the star projects billed to justify her leadership of the Club has been carried out with an assurance that their execution would be carried out with the help of club members and friends from Nigeria and abroad.

The Chairman of the event and Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN expressed confidence in the capability of Dr. Ademosu to deliver.

Governor Akeredolu emphasized that the contributions of the President to socio-economic and political development of the state are pointers that Lions Club International would be better for it at the of her tenure.

The Governor therefore called on all stakeholders to support the President in her bid to justify the confidence reposed in her.

Guest Lecturer at the event, Chief Ife Adedipe SAN called for collective interest in issues that have direct impact on the society.

The event which coincided with the birthday anniversary of Dr. Ademosu witnessed presentation of awards of recognition to prominent Nigerians for their outstanding contributions to human and societal development.

They include the Senior Special Assistant to President on Sustainable Development Goals, Princess Adejoke Oorelope-Adefulire, Pastor Funke Felix-Adejumo of Agape Ministries, Lion Bode Akinwumi for his contributions, Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Insurance expert, Tope Smart, Prophetess Apeke Daramola, Lion Tokunbo Jegede and Lion Tope Ogunrinde for their numerous contributions.

The event was rounded off with cutting of the birthday cakes as the celebrant joined other well wishers on the dancefloor to appreciate God for His love over the years.
