***Eduthecment 2.0 Advancement Awards Celebrate Excellence, Leadership, and Creativity

Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has rolled out the red carpet for excellence as the Eduthecment 2.0 Awards Ceremony crowned a day of intellectual and cultural festivity, celebrating individuals whose contributions to society, education, media, and traditional leadership have been exemplary.

The awards, organized by the Directorate of the Advancement Centre in collaboration with the University Management, recognized royalty, media personalities, creative professionals, and distinguished citizens, making it one of the most prestigious gatherings on the academic and cultural calendar of 2026.

At the ceremony, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adedokun Omoniyi Abolarin, the Orangun of Oke-Ila, was honoured for his visionary leadership and transformative investment in education through Abolarin College, Oke-Ila, a beacon of academic excellence in his community.

Also receiving accolades was His Royal Highness Kabiyesi Olumuyiwa Akintola Aguda, The Olu of Kajola-Isinkan, Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State, whose reign and personal accomplishments continue to inspire respect and admiration across Ondo State and beyond. 

Their awards highlighted the role of traditional leadership in fostering education, culture, and community development.

The ceremony also celebrated outstanding achievers in media and the arts, including renowned broadcaster and actor Yemi Shodimu, whose career has enriched Nigeria’s creative industry, and Taiwo Ibikunle, among other trailblazers whose work has left an indelible mark on society.

In her address, Professor Mrs. Olubukola Oyawoye, Convener of Eduthecment 2.0 and Director of the Advancement Centre, described the awards as a recognition of excellence, service, and the transformative power of education when fused with technology and creativity.

“These awards are not merely ceremonial; they celebrate individuals whose vision, dedication, and achievements inspire generations. They remind us that leadership, creativity, and service are worthy of public recognition and celebration,” Professor Oyawoye said

The event was graced by family, colleagues, and well-wishers of the awardees, including Justice Aguda-Taiwo Folashade, Titilayo Aguda, Barrister Bola Aguda, Olori Olabisi Aderinoye Aguda, and Princess Ifeoluwa “Miffy” Martins, who shared in the moment of distinction and prestige.

In addition to celebrating individuals, Eduthecment 2.0 showcased FUOYE’s continued commitment to bridging education, technology, and entertainment—underscoring that learning becomes most impactful when it connects with innovation and societal engagement.

The awards, described by many as epochal and historic, set a new benchmark for national recognition, leaving attendees inspired by a vivid demonstration that merit, leadership, and service deserve to be honoured in grand style.
