***Family, colleagues, and dignitaries celebrate OSRC veteran for professionalism and passion
It was a day of joy, reflection, and heartfelt gratitude as ace broadcaster and seasoned media professional, Mrs. Funmi Adeyemi, marked her 60th birthday and graceful exit from the Ondo State Radiovision Corporation (OSRC) after over three decades of impactful service.
At the colorful reception held at her Oke Aro residence in Akure, Mrs. Adeyemi, surrounded by her husband, children, friends, and colleagues, could not hide her excitement as she looked back on a career filled with challenges, triumphs, and divine grace.
“I am grateful to God for a successful journey in public service and for the strength to navigate the turbulent years of managing information and image for successive administrations in a politically vibrant environment like Ondo State,” she said with a smile.
The veteran broadcaster, who started her career when OSRC was still known as ODRS and ODTV, charged civil servants—especially information managers—to embrace focus, perseverance, integrity, and professionalism. According to her, these values remain the bedrock of excellence in public service.
“Thinking outside the box, maintaining unblemished integrity, and going the extra mile are essential for meaningful societal development,” she added.
Beaming with admiration for her supportive spouse, Dr. Barrister Rotimi Adeyemi, she described him as a strong pillar and motivator behind the scenes. She also expressed deep appreciation to the OSRC management for providing her the platform to showcase her talents, while acknowledging her colleagues and superiors for their love and cooperation over the years.
The event was graced by top personalities, including Mrs. Bukola Ogunkua, Director of Sunshine 96.5 FM Alalaye, who described the celebrant as “a living testimony that hard work, dedication, and selflessness guarantee a fulfilling career.”
Mrs. Ireti Alewi, Director of Programmes (Television), painted a picture of an admirable professional who paid great attention to detail and demonstrated loyalty to constituted authority. Ms. Damilola Agunloye, Director of Programmes, Alalaye FM, echoed similar sentiments, saying, “Mrs. Adeyemi gave passion a brand-new meaning as a presenter and producer who shaped public opinion for decades.”
Other dignitaries in attendance included Engr. Femi Ayekomilogbon, Director of Engineering Services; Mr. Samson Ilekura, Director of Production Services; and several deputy directors and colleagues from OSRC.
For many, it was not just a celebration of retirement, but a glowing tribute to a woman whose voice, intellect, and charisma have enriched the airwaves and inspired a generation of broadcasters.
