FOR THE RECORD: Firestorm in Nigeria’s Political Space: Dele Momodu vs Femi Fani-Kayode & Reno Omokri – A Feud That Shook the Airwaves

Mar 20, 2026

What began as a pointed critique has spiralled into one of the most intense public clashes in Nigeria’s political-media space—an unfolding drama featuring three of the country’s most outspoken figures: Dele Momodu, Femi Fani-Kayode, and Reno Omokri.

It is not just a disagreement—it is a collision of egos, histories, loyalties, and sharply divergent political convictions.

From a single interview by Dele Momodu, the exchanges quickly escalated into a no-holds-barred war of words—layered with personal accusations, ideological battles, and deeply cutting rhetoric. Old alliances were questioned, private conversations hinted at, reputations tested, and political identities laid bare in full public glare.

At the heart of it all lies a fundamental question:
Is this about ideology, loyalty, or something far more personal?
Each response didn’t just reply—it amplified.
Each rebuttal didn’t just defend—it attacked.

And as the exchanges grew fiercer, the lines between political disagreement and personal vendetta became increasingly blurred.

Yet, just as the confrontation appeared to be reaching a boiling point, an unexpected twist emerged—a sudden call for restraint… and a ceasefire.

But after such a ferocious exchange, one can’t help but ask:
Is this truly the end—or just an intermission?

For those who may have missed how it all unfolded (or want to follow every twist, turn, and escalation), here is the full sequence of statements—presented in the order they occurred.

Read carefully.
Follow the arguments.
And decide for yourself where the truth—and perhaps the motive—really lies.:

For my brother Bobby Dee (Dele Momodu) to compare President Tinubu to General Sani Abacha and claim that he is a dictator suggests that he is suffering from a degenerating and worrisome level of cognitive dissonance.

I love Dele and God knows I have immense respect for him but he sounded drained, tired and broken and spoke little sense yesterday in his interview with Seun Okinbaloye of Channels TV.

May I humbly suggest to him to try and take a break from politics and political commentary for a while, get his breath back and attempt to overhaul his intellectual engine?

Not only was he uncharitable and disrespectful to the President, the Vice President, the Ministers, the Senators and the newly-appointed Ambassadors, many of whom have far more experience than him in governance and Government, on that programme but he also insulted the collective intelligence of the Nigerian people.

He and his associates in the ADC should focus more on trying to build up their depleted ranks and form a strong opposition that we can look forward to engaging in the field of battle for the 2027 election rather than continously obsesse and talk about what our President and our party is doing.

The ADC cannot even be described as a sinking ship but rather as a badly patched up inflatable plastic life boat that has not even managed to find its bearing or leave the harbour.

It has no engine, no sails, no oars, no captain, no crew, no navigational equipment, no muscle, no firepower, no war chest, no destination and worse of all it is made of rubber and not steel.

How can such an ill-prepared contraption even float let alone do battle?

It cannot possibly survive the rough seas and harsh winds of Nigerian politics because it lacks gravitas, focus, character, intelligence, discipline and strength.

It needs to be built up, better schooled, better trained, better equipped, better educated and better prepared before it can enter the field and before we can even begin to regard it as an opposition party.

Right now it can only be described as a haven and pitiful gathering of vacuous, shallow, intellectual frauds and political renegades who lack foresight and who have no direction.

The fact that they have failed to take off is not Tinubu’s fault, it is theirs.

The fact that political leaders & the Nigerian people are flocking to APC in droves is not only because our President and Vice President are doing well but also because they view the ADC as nothing but a collection of disingenious, desperate and recycled political losers, who are addicted to power, who offer no credible alternative to governance and who, like the three blind mice, are running around in circles, chasing each other’s long, mangy & wrinkled tails with no where to go.

Watching my brother Dele trying to speak for them is pitiful & is even more disconcerting than his assertion that Tinubu will regret his decisions & will be deserted by everyone around him.

The Bible says “who is he that sayeth a thing & it cometh to pass when the Lord God of Hosts has commanded it not?”

Dele should listen to the Holy Spirit instead of to the pagan murmurings, strange whispers, demonic divinations & conjuring projections of the Prophets of Baal & the Witch of Endor.

To be sure Tinubu started well, he is doing well & he will, by the grace of God, end well with no regrets in 2031.

Anything short of that is the counsel of the ungodly & the manifestation & delusions of a diseased & demonised mind.

I appeal to my brother Dele: leave the ranks of the forces of darkness and join us.

You are far too good for the company you are keep.

Your presence in the ranks of the ADC is like that of a gentle, beautiful, well bred, well fed and well manicured flamingo trapped in a sea of ugly, cruel, loud, angry, starving, cackling & relentless crows & vultures.

It does not befit you.

RENO OMOKRI & FEMI FANI-KAYODE: A TALE OF TWO SHAMELESS FRIENDS…

I was going to ignore these two perpetual agents of perfidy but later decided to respond to them just in case they think they could bully me into 🔕 silence and submission.
No. They can’t. They both have no credibility whatsoever. Together, they’ve expressed the worst views ever about BOLA TINUBU that they will never be able to erase, or clean up, in a million years, except the world finally comes to an end.
The only reason I could adduce for Tinubu’s tolerance of both irritants is desperation and his inability to find better people to do the dirty jobs. The brains of these ones have been configured to say anything and delete immediately.
I have never disparaged TINUBU in my life. I have never called him a murderer. I have never called him a drug baron or addict. I’m intelligent enough, not to say what I have no proof of. Only morons talk without thinking. I thank God for good upbringing. I do not fight like pigs. And I have a job and manage my modest income. I’m not seeking government appoints. I know how many times Femi and Reno have reached out to me, privately, either begging for publicity or apologizing for attacking me publicly.

All I have accused Tinubu of is DICTATORSHIP and I stand by it with my full chest. I oppose tyranny because I once suffered under it. Chief Moshood Abiola won an election but dictatorship deprived him of his victory. Why should we replace military dictators with civilian slavemasters. That’s my only grouse against TINUBU. Because of our past association, I have been partial and generous to him by not being as critical of him as I did to his predecessors.
Because of TINUBU, I stopped writing my PENDULUM column on the backpge of Thisday and The Boss newspapers. Also, out of respect for Yoruba elder statesmen, including retired Generals who pleaded that we give him time to stabilize. They are alive to bear me witness.
How Femi and Reno can continue to harass people on behalf of a TINUBU they’ve permanently damaged and sent to the cleaners really baffles me.
But this is Nigeria…

STILL ON DELE MOMODU

I saw Dele Momodu’s response to my article on him & was amused.

I tried to be polite & restrained in that write up & I didn’t realise that it would hurt him so deeply. Yet for that I offer no apology.

I said he sounded tired & worne in his interview with Seun Okinbaloye but from his response today it is clear that he is now completely unhinged.

He has blown his gasket & his reaction is rooted more in emotion than it is in logic.

Frankly I feel sorry for him because it is clear that he is fighting a lost cause, he is badly diminished & he is now a shadow of his former self.

For Bobby Dee the glory days are certainly over & I suspect that by 2027 when Tinubu emerges victorious he will crawl back into the hole that he originally came from.

Perhaps at that time he will go back to taking pictures of former Governor Nyesom Wike, the Adeleke’s & other prominent figures for a living & shining their shoes.

Playing clips of things that I said about President Tinubu 11 years ago when I was in the then opposition & when I led the media section of President Jonathan’s presidential campaign organisation will not help him to get rid of the stench of faeces that he has immersed himself in today & neither does it derogate from the fact that he was speaking rubbish when he said Tinubu is a dictator.

Unlike others I will never deny what I have said in the past about Tinubu or anyone else but at least I had the decency & courage to admit that I was wrong & ever since I left the then opposition and joined the APC in 2021 I have not looked back.

Not only did I fight for Tinubu in 2023 during the presidential campaign but I have remained loyal & committed to him & his cause since then and I have no apology for that either.

Unlike Dele I did not benefit from him for close to 40 years, eat from his plate, collect handouts from him, stay in his house, claim to be his brother and yet refuse to support him in achieving his dream of becoming President.

Bobby Dee’s nose is so far up the posterior of those he is now slaving for that he forgot to mention the fact that every single one of them, at some point or the other in their sorry lives & career, have not only changed political parties several times over but have also opposed Tinubu bitterly & even more vehemently than I ever did only to go back & later re-align with him.

I do not begrudge them or blame them for that because that is the nature of politics all over the world.

There are no permanent friends or enemies but only permanent interests and in my view it is in the interest of Nigeria that Tinubu continues the reforms that he started in 2023 after he was elected President.

It is also my view that Nigeria must never fall into the hands of the conglomeration of court jesters, sorry clowns & motely crew of insufferable jokers that Dele is now speaking, slaving & fronting for.

I will still be gentle with my old friend because I have a soft spot for him but if he ever crosses the line with me again I will stop being so restrained.

He does not have the stomach for a real fight because he is vain and thin-skinned. He also has an over- inflated opinion of himself and a huge ego.

These are weaknesses in this game and not strengths and as we get closer to the presidential campaign he will learn this the hard way.

Meanwhile he should stay in his lane otherwise I will give him plenty to write about.

For him to compare Tinubu to Abacha was wrong and if he was anything like the dictator that Dele claims he is both Dele and those he speaks for today would either be dead or in jail.

He should count himself lucky that our President is a democrat and not a monster.

Dele’s lies, duplicity & shameless perfidy have finally been exposed & are as obvious & glaring as his very large stomach.

I advise him to do some press ups & go jogging because unlike before I will no longer remain silent as he & his friends throw mud at our President.

Game on!

FEMI FANI-KAYODE: WHEN WILL YOU STOP BEING A THUG?

By DELE MOMODU

I knew Chief Babaremilekun Adetokunbo Fani-Kayode, Q.C, SAN, of blessed memory, the father of David Oluwafemi Adewunmi Abdulateef Fani-Kayode aka FFK, in Ile-Ife, long before I met his querulous, garrulous and cantankerous son.
Femi is a classic case of a wasted investment. He attended some of the best schools pedigree and/or money could purchase, but turned out an outright and incurable thug. He went to Cambridge University, probably a 4th generation in his family, but became an enfant
terrible, fighting anyone and anything, including esoteric spirits, in sight. All supplication and intercession by friends and family on his behalf have failed to cure his strange malady. And this is the man President Bola Tinubu is about to unleash on Germany as an Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for God’s sake.
For Femi, it is a fulfillment of a long expected appointment. We discussed it several times. And I encouraged him to be patient and prayerful. I felt his deep frustration and depression. He was already working on Plan B, and begging a few of us to help him reach out to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (GCON), if all hopes evaporate. Femi without power is like fish out of water. It is such a pity that now that Tinubu has finally looked at his side, with mercy and compassion, he is still busy fighting, like a pig, instead of seeking urgent rehabilitation into the comity of sane human beings.

Dele Momodu, You Are Too Immature For Politics. Please Focus On Hyping Fading #BBNaija Contestants!

Dear Dele Momodu,

I have NEVER reached out to you privately for reconciliation. NEVER. If you have evidence about that, please publicise it now. I must remind you that, if I am nothing, I am at least a meticulous recordkeeper. I know what you and I have discussed privately, and it serves no one’s interests to expose our discussions publicly. But if you choose to go that route, note that I do not talk without receipts.

The fact is that, except my parents have been insulted, or my wife or children’s lives have been threatened, which for me is unforgivable, I do not harbour malice, unlike you.

The last time you and I had an exchange, I did not reach out to you privately to arrange a settlement or ask for publicity, as you claimed. Rather, because of your weight and the fact that you had previously told me you do not spend more than four days in any physical location and are always travelling, despite the negative things you had written and said about me, I called you to warn you to always travel with aspirin or any other blood thinner to avoid sudden death syndrome, which can result from Deep Vein Thrombosis, caused by frequent air flights. God forbid, it will NEVER happen to you!

You will recall that the reason I gave you that brotherly counsel is because DVT had led to the sudden death of a dear friend and brother of mine who almost became the Inspector General of Police.

You are overweight, and are a heavy and constant eater. I know that for someone of your size to travel once every four days without aspirin as a blood thinner and anti-platelet agent is a big risk. May God in His mercy spare your life and may you live long.

That you would twist my kind and brotherly gesture out of concern for your health as having “reached out to me, privately, either begging for publicity or apologising for attacking me publicly” is sad. But such is life.

Who are you that I should beg you publicly? On all social media platforms, I command a far greater following than you and your dead magazine, Ovation.

For goodness’ sake, I was listed among the most talked-about people in Africa by Google. You were not even mentioned! Ovation did not feature. I was voted the most influential influencer in Africa by Business Insider, the world’s top business magazine. You were not even acknowledged.

It is me you need, not the other way around. It pains me to have to say this, as it is not my nature to boast. But you can’t put out such and expect me not to respond.

If I were as dishonourable as you, I would repeat some of the things you have told me privately about people you celebrate publicly. But I am not you. I maintain confidences, which is why your boss, Waziri Atiku Abubakar, still talks to me. If I may ask, do President Tinubu, former Governor Wike, and Governor Adeleke still talk to you?

Dele Momodu, you are, sadly, too sensitive for politics. You should have focused on entertainment. You have poor political feelers, and do not know when people are trying to be easy on you because of past friendships.

How, for example, do you expect to insult and attack the President and desire that those who support him will be quiet?

You called the President an economic failure and accused him of being like General Sani Abacha, a murderer and looter, and you say that is not an insult?

And when we speak in measured tones, because you know our capacity and should understand that we were just being easy on you because of the soft spot we have for you, you start getting upset and let your emotions control you.

No. Stay in your lane. Focus on your game as Nigeria’s pioneer hype-man. Entertainment is very different from politics.

If you easily feel offended, then politics is not for you. Do not criticise others. Stick to praising singing celebrities!

How can you fire bullets and expect flowers? Dele Momodu, you are mature in entertainment, but politically immature.

What value do you bring to the Atiku camp or any other political group?

I was nominated as an Ambassador by President Tinubu and my State Governor, and the three Senators from my state, as well as the Federal cabinet minister from Delta, all united and publicly associated with me and supported me.

The state Chairman of the ruling party from my state, a greatly beloved elder, was with me throughout the process of my confirmation.

In your home state of Edo, who can you count on?

Dele, you should focus on hyping fading Big Brother contestants and leave politics to those with a thick enough skin to take barbs and give back in good measure.

THE PIMP CALLED DELE MOMODU HAS BLOWN ANOTHER GASKET:

Dele Momodu has got his knickers in a twist yet again. Poor soul. He is clearly tormented.

There is nothing worse than watching a man that comes from a lineage of touts and pimps blowing his gasket.

He calls me a thug, speaks about my father and family and claims that I wanted to work with Atiku even though I left PDP in 2021.

Say what you want about me DELE but it really doesn’t matter. My father never knew you even though you claimed he did and no-one ever knew your father.

That is how inconsequential you and yours are to Nigeria’s history.

No matter what you say about me I was born into the corridirs of power, I have been in power and I have remained relevant and active in the power configuration of our country for over 30 years which is more than I can say for you.

So it stops there.

All I know about you is that you were once a journalist, you followed Chief MKO Abiola around like a court jester and collected crumbs from him for much of your life, you became a hustler and a photographer after he was incarcerated and that you ran for President a number of years back and got only one vote which came from your wife.

I will not bother to go into your family history because there is nothing in it to talk about which is why you have such a terrible inferiority complex and a chip on your shoulder. Yet all that is irrelevant.

The only thing that is important is that the man you are accusing of being a dictator and an Abacha is presently in Windsor now having dinner with the King whilst you are still in Nigeria kissing Atiku’s posterior.

I am sure if your defunct Ovation magazine had been invited to cover the event you would have been happier and less bitter and frustrated.

Outside of that whether you like it or not President Tinubu WILL return to office and be re-elected in 2027. Nothing you day or do about me or him can change that and this is the source of your pain.

Insult me as much as you like: it is like duck off a waters back to me. The only thing that matters is Nigeria and that creatures like you and those you represent do not ever get near power.

You called me a pig yet look at yourself in the mirror and tell me who looks more like a pig between you and I.

Your profound ugliness, fat stomach and lack of good breeding is your greatest torment.

Let us hope it does not bring you to an unexpected end.

You were nothing, you are nothing and you will never be anything but Atiku’s side kick.

I urge you to calm down and live with this unsavoury fact. I pray it doesn’t cause you to have a heart attack and drop dead.

Outside of this I do not have your time. I have been called to serve my country once again and that is where my focus lies.

All the best.

FEMI FANI-KAYODE: AN AMBASSADOR WITHOUT DECORUM

By DELE MOMODU

To those begging me to ignore FEMI FANI-KAYODE, my apologies, I can’t. I know Femi well. He is a bully. But I have plenty time for him. He calls a global brand, Ovation Media Group, defunct. Yet, as recently as February 11, 2026, he still begged me to help him publish on one of our platforms, The Boss newspapers, about the Educational achievements of his family. And I gladly obliged him, after which he sent “Thanks brother.

Very kind of you.” Is he already suffering from dementia?

As for Ovation International, he used our platform to celebrate the birthday of his son, for which we did not charge a kobo. This was what he wrote and sent to me: “Good morning my brother. May I send you videos and pictures of my sons birthday party which took place on 25th. They are great shots and I would appreciate it if you could select a few for your usage…
Always and forever my brother. I am proud of you and I wish you well. Keep up the great work.”
What work or business does Femi do except scavenging for political appointments? With all his boastfulness about his silverspoon status, he has not attained a global brand except for the wrong reasons.
His estranged wife, Precious, reached out to me, to speak to Femi to grant her access to their children. She regaled me with unprintable and horrendous tales of Femi’s inhumanity to her. I obliged and got Femi and her to reconcile, technically. Femi was so excited that he pestered me for progress on the matter, regularly, including asking me to speak to a female Senator: “I hope you managed to reach her my brother.” What more can I do to make Femi happy?..
I understand Femi’s strategy. He needs to remain in Tinubu’s good books just in case GERMANY falls through and he needs another appointment…

DELE MOMODU: FROM BREAD-HAWKER TO POLITICAL PROSTITUTE AND GLUTTON OF THE AGES

Apologies to my dear aburo Kayode Ajulo SAN and others that have said I should leave the Dele Momodu alone.

When Dele was at University he was a fraudulent rain maker who claimed to be able to “tie the rain” for people on the day they were having special outdoor events.

He duped the owner of a beauty pageant in this way on 1982 collected his money yet the rain still fell.

After leaving University he couldn’t get a job so he started off as a bread hawker on the street after getting a 3rd class degree in Yoruba at OAU.

He was spotted on the street by MKO Abiola who bought him shoes and put him in charge of his Wonder Bakery.

He eventually brushed up on his english and spelling and became a journalist and later an Editor in MKO’s Concorde Newspaper.

He followed MKO around and later betrayed him.

After MKO was locked up he attached himself to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and collected handouts from him for years.

After that he started taking pictures of people with his Ovation magazine.

He failed in all these endeavours and everything he attempted to do always crashed.

So he went into politics, ran for President and got one vote. His ambition crashed.

He became a spokesman for Atiku and was the only person that did not want power to come to the South in 2023.

We are approaching 2027 and he wants power to go back to the North already calling PBAT who once fed him a dictator.

Is this guy OK at all?

Everything about him eventually crashes and just as he crashed Atiku’s campaign and ambition in 2023 so he will crash it again in 2027.

Let me go a little further.

Dele’s pattern of betrayal cannot be denied. It is unmistakable.

He called Asiwaju his “friend” and “brother” after collecting money from him in 1996 to feed. When the money stopped flowing from Asiwaju to him, he started to smother and bother his brother from another mother.

He said he fled Nigeria because of Abacha, only to flee England to Kano to eat from the same Abachas when Tinubu’s money stopped flowing to him.

Ile-Ife, where he grew up, is abuzz over how Dele Momodu, who once called Governor Ademola Adeleke his “friend” and “brother” and was dancing different salve moves with Adeleke, is now supporting Adeleke’s opponent in the Osun gubernatorial election.

Who would have believed the dance parents would now be at loggerheads?

All because of Dele’s uncontrollable appetite for food. No wonder Gen Z calls him DFFO, Dele For Food Only. Google it! He is indeed a shameless GLUTTON.

No wonder he claimed his restraint business in Ghana collapsed. He must have eaten all the food meant for his patrons!

From Adekeke, he moved to Nyesom Wike and was always around the dining table at the Rivers State Government House, overeating, according to Wike’s testimony.

Then all of a sudden, he posted to Atiku, after Wike’s money dried up, and started insulting the Wike he was once consulting and consorting with.

Atiku would be well-advised to be very afraid of Dele, especially as Peter Obi and Amaechi are eager to spend as well.

Who knows? Tomorrow, Dele may not delay in relaying insults on Atiku once he sees a bigger payload from either of those guys.

What else can one expect from a bread hawker, political prostitute and GLUTTON of the ages?

As a consequence of the intervention of numerous highly respected leaders for whom I have the greatest admiration a ceasefire between myself and my friend and brother Bobby Dee is now in place.

I will make no more comments about him and hopefully he will do same. We are both Nigerians and we share common values even though we disagree politically.

I believe we can both move on with our lives peacefully as from today despite the hurtful things that were said on both sides over the last 24 hours.

I thank all those that intervened and I hope that the ceasefire will hold.

Shalom.
