The 3rd edition of the Face of Africa Leadership Award, organised by Triangle News International, unfolded in grandeur and inspiration on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the prestigious RHB 300 Hall of Goldsmiths, University of London, United Kingdom. The ceremony marked another landmark moment in the celebration of African excellence, innovation, and transformational leadership on the global stage.
Held under the theme “Digital Governance: Opportunities and Challenges,” the event spotlighted Africa’s forward march into the digital age while honouring distinguished individuals whose impactful work continues to shape the continent’s future.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Femi Salako, CEO of Triangle News International, reaffirmed the organisation’s mission to project Africa’s story with pride and purpose.
“Today, we celebrate leadership, excellence, and the enduring spirit of Africa,” he stated. “Our theme speaks directly to the times we live in, as Africa embraces the promise of the digital age… Let today ignite fresh ideas and lasting collaborations for a digitally driven, prosperous Africa.”

A major intellectual highlight of the night came from Professor Ojo Emmanuel Ademola, a global cybersecurity pioneer, who delivered a compelling keynote titled “The Digital Economy in Africa: Opportunities and Challenges.” He offered a profound analysis of Africa’s digital transformation, urging public and private sectors to invest in technology education, data governance, and equitable access to digital tools.
Fola Braimoh, another esteemed speaker, reinforced the theme with a rousing call for strategic leadership in leveraging digital innovation for inclusive growth and development.
Commending the organisers, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, said:

Among the high-ranking dignitaries in attendance was Commander Collins Preye Mezeh, Deputy Defence Adviser at the Nigeria High Commission in London, whose presence underscored the diplomatic gravitas of the event. The Mayor of London also sent a message of commendation, noting:
“You gathered such a reputable crowd in the city of London — a testament to Africa’s rising global influence.”
The 2025 Face of Africa Leadership Award was more than a celebration — it was a clarion call to Africans, both on the continent and in the diaspora, to dream bigger, lead boldly, and tell their stories with unwavering confidence. Triangle News International once again affirmed its role as a bridge between continents, generations, and transformative ideas.
