EKSU Convocation fees: Alumni Association Intervenes

The Ekiti State University, EKSU Alumni Association has called on concerned stakeholders to allow positive intervention on the controversial alleged outrageous fees attached to the forthcoming Convocation of the institution.

The Global President of the Alumni Association, Engr Dipo Bamisaye stated that the Association is taking necessary steps to ensure all parties are on the same page towards the development of the citadel of learning.

Engr Bamisaye who noted that he had been following the situation both physically and on social media stressed, that leadership of the Alumni Association had met with stakeholders including Chairman of Governing Council and the Vice Chancellor of the institution on the possibility of reviewing the fees

He called on students, parents and concerned groups to exercise patience and give room for dialogue on the said attendants sum of the Convocation ceremony billed for March 30th, 2022.

On the outcry on various social media, the President described it as indeed part of the burden of Leadership.

” Nevertheless, the justification of the outcry is relative as the cost of diesel, materials or the running costs of the University is unbearable base on the economic reality in the country today.

” I hope the Management will take our plea to reduce the charges especially as it affects the first degree graduants”

The Alumni President adds that the Association will continue to play its advisory roles in the best interest of the institution.
