The 16th Annual Lecture and Awards of Ebony Herald International Magazine will kick off tomorrow, November 20, at the prestigious Pharmacy House, located behind Government House in Alagbaka, Akure, Ondo State.
This year’s anniversary centres on the compelling theme: “Insecurity and Economic Development in Nigeria: Breaking the Circle of Corruption, Poverty, and Violence.”
It is a timely and thought-provoking focus that underscores the magazine’s unwavering commitment to national discourse, public enlightenment, and the pursuit of a safer and more prosperous Nigeria.
The opening lecture for the two-week intellectual engagement will be delivered by the Ondo State Honourable Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Engr. Dr. Johnson Jaiye Alabi.
His presentation is expected to explore pragmatic solutions to pressing national challenges, including food shortages, insecurity, farmers–herders clashes, and the growing threat of banditry—issues that continue to shape the nation’s socioeconomic landscape.
Also expected to speak are distinguished scholars and public figures, including Prof. Rasak Ojo Bakare of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, and seasoned politician and APC chieftain, Barr. Dr. Olumuyiwa Adu.
Their insights promise to enrich the conversation and inspire actionable ideas for national development.
A major highlight of the celebration will be the induction of ten eminent personalities into the prestigious Ebony Herald Hall of Fame and Dignity, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to society, leadership excellence, and service to humanity.
The grand finale of the 16th anniversary is scheduled for December 2 at the National Merit Award House, Aguiyi Ironsi Street, Maitama, Abuja.
The concluding ceremony will feature another round of impactful lectures, distinguished honours and awards, as well as an anniversary get-together designed to foster camaraderie and meaningful reflection.
