As Nigeria commemorates Democracy Day, United States-based philanthropist and grassroots politician, Samuel Ajayi, has extended warm congratulations to Nigerians for their enduring commitment to democratic values.
Ajayi, who hails from Ijare in Ondo State, praised the resilience of the Nigerian people and underscored the importance of democracy as a cornerstone of national progress.
According to him, democracy amplifies the voices of citizens, promotes unity, guarantees freedom, and ensures inclusive participation in governance.
“Democracy is a noble sacrifice—one that must be respected and preserved, especially at a time when our country urgently needs unity, love, and a shared sense of purpose,” he stated.
He paid tribute to Nigeria’s democratic heroes, acknowledging their sacrifices in laying the foundation for the freedoms enjoyed today.
Ajayi also encouraged citizens to collaborate with the current administration led by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to deepen democratic dividends, particularly at the grassroots level.
“Together, we can confront our challenges and achieve great things. Let us continue to support the democratic process and work alongside government institutions to build a nation where good governance benefits all,” he added.
Ajayi’s Democracy Day message serves as a rallying call for national unity, civic responsibility, and the continued nurturing of democracy for a more inclusive and prosperous Nigeria.
