Prince Olugbenga Ojo has emerged as the Iralepo-elect of Isinkan in Akure south local government area of Ondo State.
After a selection exercise which ended on Thursday at Saint Thomas’s event centre, Isinkan, Prince Ojo was selected ahead of 4 other princes.
Secretary to Akure south local government, Hon. Gbenga Fasua led local government officials to conduct the selection.
Twelve (12) Kingmakers participated in the selection exercise.
Prince Gbenga Ojo scored 7 votes to defeat Prince Gbenga Henry Adeyeye with 4 votes, Prince Ademola Adekanbi Obe Nil, Prince Michael Ajibola Obadunjoye Awelewa 1 and Prince Babatope Ojo had Nil
Prince Ojo who is a legal practitioner and son of the immediate past Mornach was born on the 2nd of October 1972.
The new monarch will be the 48th Iralepo of Isinkan.
The last monarch, Joseph Olu Ojo, died on the 3rd of February, 2021 after 43 year-reign and his daughter, Margaret, has ruled as regent since then.
Oba Olu-Ojo ascended the throne on July 3, 1978 as the 47th Iralepo of Isikan.
