The Ondo State Government has approved the recruitment of a wide range of healthcare and support personnel into the state’s Hospitals Management Board (HMB), in a move aimed at strengthening service delivery across public health facilities.
The approval was granted by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, according to a statement by a member of the board, Hon. (Nurse) Patience Arinola Adamolekun.
Under the directive, the HMB is to employ qualified candidates into various entry grade levels across several professional categories. Medical Officers are to be recruited on Grade Level (GL) 13, while Nurses will be engaged at different levels depending on qualifications: BNSc holders on GL 10, Registered Nurse/Midwives (RNM) on GL 08, and Registered Nurses (RN) on GL 07.
Other positions approved include Pharmacists, Medical Laboratory Scientists, Optometrists, and Physiotherapists on GL 10. Health Information Officers (BSc), Radiographers, Scientific Officers, Public Health Officers, and Executive Officers are to be employed on GL 08.
Additionally, the board will recruit Dental Technicians, Pharmacy Technicians, Health Information Management (HIM) Technicians, X-ray Technicians, and
Medical Laboratory Technicians on GL 07. Clerical Officers will be placed on GL 04, while Health Attendants and other support staff—including maintenance personnel, messengers, security officers, and gardeners—will be employed on GL 02.
Prospective applicants have been advised to visit the Hospitals Management Board office in Alagbaka, Akure, to submit their names ahead of the official recruitment exercise.
Adamolekun noted that a formal advertisement detailing the recruitment process will be released soon, alongside the official application forms.
However, she disclosed that a preliminary list is already being compiled for interested candidates.
The recruitment initiative is expected to boost manpower in the state’s health sector and improve access to quality healthcare services for residents.
