Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and endorsed him as the party’s candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
The endorsement came during the APC summit held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, which was attended by thousands of party faithful.
The motion for the vote of confidence and endorsement was moved by the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma. It was seconded by Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State and received overwhelming support from attendees at the event.
The endorsement signals early preparation by the ruling party ahead of the 2027 polls and reaffirms the governors’ backing for President Tinubu’s leadership.
