The Chairman of Akure West Local Council Development Authority (LCDA), Hon. Sunday Adejuyigbe, has congratulated Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on his landmark victory at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which upheld his election of November 16, 2024, alongside his deputy, Dr. Olayide Adelami, mni.
In a statement issued on his behalf, Hon. Adejuyigbe described the judgment as “solid and detailed,” commending it as a judicial affirmation of the mandate freely given by the people to the undisputed winner of the 2024 governorship election.
He applauded the judiciary for upholding the truth, adding that the tribunal’s decision reaffirms the choice made by the majority of Ondo State citizens who elected the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate.
According to him, the verdict has dispelled all doubts regarding the validity and authenticity of the election results as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Hon. Adejuyigbe noted that the ruling also reinforces confidence in the rule of law and democratic institutions, which are becoming more deeply rooted in Nigeria.
He called on the good people of Ondo State to rally behind Governor Aiyedatiwa in his efforts to steer the state toward economic prosperity.
He emphasized that the governor is fully committed to the state’s development and needs the collective support of all citizens, including members of the opposition, to deliver the dividends of democracy to every part of the state.
While congratulating Governor Aiyedatiwa and the people of Ondo State on this well-deserved victory, Hon. Adejuyigbe also appealed to opposition parties and candidates, particularly His Excellency Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party, a former Deputy Governor under the APC, to join hands with the governor in the interest of the state.
He urged them to offer constructive advice and support that would enhance the state’s journey toward sustainable development, peace, and prosperity.
