A former member of House of Representatives, Prince Abiodun Adesida says he won the Akure North/Akure south House of Representatives election held on Friday in Akure, Ondo State.
Hon. Adesida told Journalists after the election held at Ade Super hotel in Akure that though there was initial disruption with gunshots, he said the exercise was concluded.
According to him he polled 68 votes to defeat his closest rival Mayokun Alade who had 37 votes and Oluwafemi Fadairo with five votes.
He said Crisis erupted when the chairman, house of representatives primary electoral committee, Mr Adeyemi Akola (rmd) was about to announce the results as some hoodlums dashed into the venue demanding cancellation of the primary election
He maintained that security operatives however overpowered the hoodlums through sporadic shootouts and teargas.
Prince Adesida said the development had been reported to appropriate quarters and enjoined his supporters to maintain peace
