Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has urged the people of Ogbagi-Akoko to continue to live in peace and harmony to ensure the sustained progress and development of their community.
The Governor made the appeal on Saturday during the 38th Ogbagi Day Celebration held in Akoko North-West Local Government Area of the state.
Represented by the Commissioner for Water Resources, Public Sanitation and Hygiene, Hon. Ayodele Samson Akande, Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and promoting inclusive development across the state.
He called on residents to remain law-abiding and supportive of government policies, stressing that peace and cooperation are vital to achieving meaningful development.
Akande said, “The Governor recognizes Ogbagi as an important community in Ondo State, which he holds in high regard. He wants the people to know that his administration understands their pains and concerns, particularly the deplorable condition of the federal road linking Ogbagi to Ikare, from Ado to Ikare.”
The Governor, through his representative, further assured the people that several developmental projects were underway, with Ogbagi and its environs set to benefit from them. He also conveyed his warm greetings to the traditional ruler of Ogbagi, Oba Victor Adetona, wishing him a happy celebration and many more years of peace and prosperity.
In his remarks, the Owa of Ogbagi, Oba Victor Adetona, described the celebration as one of the most remarkable in the town’s history and urged residents to sustain peace and unity.
He said, “Today’s event has been truly glorious. I believe this is one of the best Ogbagi Day celebrations we have ever witnessed. This marks the 38th edition of Ogbagi Day, and this year’s celebration came with unique glamour. We must ensure that peace reigns because without peace, there can be no meaningful progress.”
Also speaking, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Forestry, Comrade Olorunfemi Chris, lauded Governor Aiyedatiwa for his commitment to infrastructural development across the state.
Similarly, High Chief Olutope Adebambo, the Ajalosi Oloja Ioso of Ogbagi, appealed to residents to cooperate with the monarch and work collectively for the continued growth and prosperity of the town.
