Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, swore in newly appointed and reappointed Special Advisers, the Director-General of the Performance and Projects Implementation Monitoring Unit (PPIMU), and inaugurated the new Chairman and members of the Ondo State Law Commission.
The ceremony at the Cocoa Conference Centre, Governor’s Office, Akure, highlighted the administration’s commitment to strengthening governance under its “OUR EASE” policy thrust.
Speaking during the event, Governor Aiyedatiwa urged the appointees to approach their roles with humility, diligence, and a focus on results.
“The applause that greets your appointment today must be matched by the applause that greets your performance tomorrow. Let your work be your loudest testimony,” he said.
The Special Advisers sworn in include Hon. Olugbenga Omole (Transport), Comrade Gani Mohammed (Special Duties and Strategy), Allen Sowore (Communication and Strategy), Dr. Summy Smart Francis (Entrepreneurship & Innovation), Dr. Tunji Rhema (Environment), Mrs. Kikelomo Ikuomola (Public Affairs & Intergovernmental Relations), Engr. Wale Aladenusi (Marine & Blue Economy), Hon. Kolawole Babatunde (Legislative and Party Affairs), and Hon. Igbekele Akinrinwa (Local Government Affairs).
Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted that their offices are not merely positions of proximity to power but opportunities to shape policies, provide sound counsel, and ensure coherence in programme implementation across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
He also charged the newly appointed Director-General of PPIMU to ensure standardised project monitoring, judicious use of resources, and timely delivery of the “OUR EASE” agenda.
On the Law Commission, Mr. Femi Okunjemiruwa Esq. was appointed Chairman, alongside members Olufemi Mayor Omosua Esq. (North), Raymond Olaleye Ogunmoyero Esq. (Central), Oladehingbe Sunday Esq. (Central), and Tope Olajube Esq. (North).
The Governor tasked them with reviewing and reforming the State’s legal framework to make it more just, effective, and adaptable to societal needs.
Reiterating his administration’s commitment to progressive governance, equity, efficiency, and empowerment, Governor Aiyedatiwa cited achievements in agriculture, food security, education, urban renewal, economic growth, rural access, and security, stressing that public office is a sacred duty, not a privilege for self-enrichment.
Responding on behalf of the appointees, Special Adviser on Transport, Olugbenga Omole, expressed gratitude and assured the Governor of their loyalty, dedication, and impactful service across the State.
