Again, Exemplar Friends Club International Presents Scholarship Awards to Students in Akure

In furtherance of its effort at giving back to the society, a non governmental organization, Exemplar Friends Club International, EFCI has presented scholarship awards to students from 14 secondary schools in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

At the presentation ceremony held at Oyemekun Grammar School on Wednesday, President of the Club, Dr Olajide Animashaun said the educational support is one of the Club’s cardinal programmes to complement government’s efforts in transforming the education sector.

Animashaun, whose speech was read by the Club’s General Secretary, Akinola Omotayo, said the motive is to touch lives and destinies and to give hope to the hopeless whose educational dreams may be dashed due to lack of funds.

He said: “We all know that Education is key to human development. And it takes a village to raise a child. It is in this spirit that our club continues on in its endeavor to join the village in raising good citizens that will become the great leaders of tomorrow through our educational support outfit.

” It is also understandable that the ability and or the accessibility may be lacking for some families to support their children education; our hearts and minds goes towards such families and we pray that God will continue to meet them at the point of their need. It is hoped that our little effort of today will touch such families and put smiles on their kids faces”.

While highlighting the Club’s community development projects to include yearly scholarship for students, orphanage outreach, health Screening programme, help mete for members and others, Akinola said the Club will continue to do more to liberate the people and accelerate community development.

“I say congratulations to the Chair Project Committee Hon. Dr. Tayo Alade and the committee members for their efforts on this project. A big thanks to Hon. Akinola Omotayo, Hon. Ajibade Adebo and Hon. Gbenga Obey and all other Honorables present in this occasion for the workings of this program and a big congratulations to all members of EFCI for adding another color to our feathers”, he said.

He said the gesture will be extended to students in Okitipupa, Ilaramokin and Ute in Ose local government area of the Ondo state to ensure that more students benefits from the Club’s kind heart for the overall growth of society.

The Vice Principal of Oyemekun Grammar School, Mrs Jumoke Bamidele commended the NGO for its show of love to the students, saying the gesture would go a long way in encouraging the beneficiaries to face their studies and be the best.

While urging the club to continue the gesture, Mrs Bamidele urged other public spirited individuals and organizations to complement government’s efforts in the education sector.

Some parents and teachers who also described the gesture as laudable, appreciated the Exemplar friends Club International for coming to their aids especially at a time that the harsh economic realities in the country is hitting so hard on them.

Some of the students who also spoke on the occasion promised a reciprocation of the gesture by facing their studies to justify the club’s investment on them

The Exemplar Friends Club International had last year carried out free health screening in the metropolis to enable residents know their health status and promote a healthy society.
