The Iralepo of Isinkan kingdom, in Akure south local government area of Ondo State, Oba Oluwagbemiga Ajimokunola Olofin-Adimula (Arulewolasi III) has bagged the Aquinas College Royal Excellence Award.
The award was conferred on the Iralepo at the reunion of Aquinas College Akure Old Students Association, 83-88/89 Set in Akure.
The Chairman of the Set, Comrade Stephen Adedipe commended the Iralepo for being an Ambassador of Humility despite his royal pedigree.
Comrade Adedipe said that the Iralepo was known to have transformed the ancient town of Isinkan within the short time he ascended the throne of his ancestors.
He said the traditional ruler was also a peace builder par excellence as he has maintained peace in the ancient community of Isinkan.
Comrade Adedipe said Oba Olofin-Adimula is also noted to be a strong advocate of cultural integration and unity and as such deserved such an award.
The guest speaker, Mr Adefemi Adetogo, urged the old students to be focused and not to be in competition with anyone. Stressing that they need to take care of their health, build relationship with their creator, do a thorough research before investing in any business, avoid spending money anyhow, build a united family where love thrives.
The Iralepo of Isinkan, Oba Olofin-Adimula who was also the Chairman on the Occasion thanked the old students for the honour.
Oba Olofin-Adimula stated that if a single set could achieve such a large gathering and a Grade A event, he wondered what the national body of the association would have achieved.
He described the event as a great one, urging the old students to continue to give back to their alma mater as the school has done so much to impact on their lives.
The Olujigba of Ijigba, Oba Luyi Rotimi, the Royal Father of the event enjoined the members to continue to be their brother’s keeper, keep the strong bond they share, learn to keep records and keep moving with the fear of God.
The Olujigba, a former Managing Director of the National Bank, was also conferred with Royal Excellence Award at the event.
The event was attended by members of the set such as Mr. Segun Olowu who was the Chairman of the Organising Committee for the reunion, Mr. Henry Adewole, a former gymnastic medalist for Ondo State,, the General Manager of the Ondo State Waste Management Authority, Prince Folaju Omowole, and a former National President of the Nigerian Kungfu Federation, Engr. Tunji Light Ariyomo.
Rev. Fr. O. Ajayi, the Principal of the College was also in attendance.
Other members of the set in attendance included Mr. Oladele Adeboyejo, the Vice President of the set, Mr. Gbnga Aladesoyin a senior Director in the Ondo State Civil Service, and Mr. Wale Fadeni a senior banker.
The event was also graced by senior academics who were members of the set such as Dr. Olusayo Olubosede a former HOD of the Department of Physics at the Federal University Oye Ekiti, Dr. Ademola Akinsorotan, Director of Entrepreneurship Centre of the Federal University Oye Ekiti, Dr. Olasehinde Bello, a consultant and Head of Department at the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED) Ondo, Pastor Dimu Ibironke, Pastor Biodun Aladeseye, and Pastor Adekanye Eleko among several others.
