Achievers University inducts 75 nurses, as Don warns them on professional ethics

Following the completion of its 13th foundation Anniversary at the weekend, Achievers University, Owo in Ondo state yesterday Inducted 75 new graduate nurses.

Speaking at Induction ceremony which was held at the Trinity Hall of the Institution in Owo, the Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Bode Ayorinde, said the Institution has zero tolerance for indiscipline, maintaining that certificates are obtained meritoriously, not purchased.

The founder said that from time immemorial, the school bears the trademark of discipline, bent on discharging qualitative Education.

He, however, appealed to the inductees to uphold the ethics of the proffesion, urging them to eschew societal decadence.

In his remarks, Prof Samuel Aje, said the ceremony was an epoch-making, adding that the Varsity played prominent roles in the reformation of their Students.

Despite the Covid19 lockdown, Prof Aje said the Governing Council had declared tuition free scholarships to all students in 10 highly demanding degree programs for three consecutive years with effect from 2020/2021 academic section.

The Guest Speaker, Prof. Omolara Irinoye, charged the Inductees to be resilient frontally when confronted with poor working environment, inadequate support and high level of dissatisfaction wherever they found themselves in the proffesion.

She explained that the aforementioned challenges demand spirited efforts to be surmounted irrespective of whatever may betide.

The Don further stated that Nurses are always at forefront of combating malady that may in turn be an epidemic, adding that the new Inductees must be resolute to wage war against health issues that may even cause public unrest.

Prof. Omolara who is the Head; Department of Nursing Science, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, urged the new graduates to preach Nutrition, Genetics, Lifestyle and environment to the society as determinants of sound health.

During her valedictorian speech, the representative of the graduating class, Moyin Bodunde, hailed the lecturers of the department who had work tirelessly to ensure their students does not falter Academically.
