The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, has congratulated Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan on his elevation to the position of Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
Adeniyan, who also retains his position as Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, was recently elevated to the Ondo State Cabinet in recognition of his contributions to the administration’s media and public communication efforts.
In a congratulatory statement jointly signed by the State Chairman, Prince Leke Adegbite, and State Secretary, Comrade Olaoluwa Meshack, on Wednesday, November 5, 2026, the union described the elevation as a well-deserved recognition of Adeniyan’s professionalism, competence and commitment to duty.
The Ondo NUJ noted that his performance as Chief Press Secretary had distinguished him as a dedicated media professional, particularly in communicating government policies, programmes and activities to the public.
The union also commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for the confidence reposed in Adeniyan, expressing optimism that his elevation would further strengthen the state’s information machinery and improve communication between the government and the people.
According to the statement, Adeniyan’s retention as Chief Press Secretary alongside his new responsibility as Special Adviser on Media and Publicity demonstrates the Governor’s confidence in his capacity to advance the administration’s media and publicity objectives.
The NUJ expressed confidence that his expanded responsibilities would promote professionalism, transparency, timely dissemination of information and a stronger working relationship between the government and the media.
It urged Adeniyan to regard his new appointment as a call to greater service and responsibility, while assuring him of the union’s continued support and cooperation in promoting responsible journalism and effective public communication.
The council further wished him success in his new assignment, expressing confidence that his wealth of experience would contribute meaningfully to the development of Ondo State.
Adeniyan is a former Secretary of the Ondo State Council of the NUJ and also served as a national officer of the union.
