As Muslims around the world marked Eid-el-Adha, the Chief Imam of Oba-Ile, Sheikh Dauda Alimi Ajigbotoluwa, has called on the faithful to imbibe the virtues of patience, sacrifice, and obedience as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
Delivering his sermon at the Oba-Ile Eid ground, Sheikh Ajigbotoluwa emphasized that patience remains a fundamental pillar of faith, especially in times of hardship.
He noted that the spirit of Eid-el-Adha is rooted in total submission to the will of God, urging Muslims to remain steadfast and hopeful.
In a symbolic act of sacrifice, the Chief Imam slaughtered a ram at the Eid prayer ground, in line with Islamic tradition, and prayed for peace, prosperity, and divine guidance for Nigeria and Ondo State.

The Chief Imam also led prayers for the Oba-Ile community, condoling with them over the recent passing of their traditional ruler, Oba Joseph Oluwadare Agunbiade, Otutubiotun 1
He described the monarch’s demise as a painful loss and asked Allah to grant the departed eternal rest.
Despite the mourning, Sheikh Ajigbotoluwa congratulated the community on the peaceful emergence of Princess Veronica Adefoluke Agunbiade – Adu as regent, urging continued unity and cooperation during the transitional period.

He further extended his congratulations to the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on his 100 days in office.
He lauded the governor’s initial strides in governance and called for sustained efforts in delivering good governance to the people.


However, the Chief Imam raised concern over the rising wave of insecurity in Akure North Local Government Area.
He appealed to the state government to urgently scale up its security architecture, noting that the growing insecurity in the area is alarming and requires swift intervention.
The Eid celebration in Oba-Ile witnessed a large turnout of Muslim faithful, who gathered in joy and solemnity to commemorate the festival with prayers, thanksgiving, and acts of sacrifice.

The eld prayer attracted various dignitaries, including the former Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Victor Ibikunle Ogunniyi, the Chairman of Igbaotun LCDA and Elemo of Oba-Ile High Chief Oluwatimilehin Gbemisayo among others.
