Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, AAUA, is set to host the inaugural edition of the Michael Adekunle Ajasin International Conference, scheduled to run from Sunday, November 3, to Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
The theme of the conference is “Education, Politics, and Nation Building: A Reflection on the Life and Philosophy of Michael Adekunle Ajasin.”
According to a statement by the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Dr. Olusanya Faboyede, the event will feature a keynote address to be delivered by Bashorun Sehinde Arogbofa, a prominent leader of the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere.
The conference will be chaired by the Visitor to the University and Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, with the Vice Chancellor Prof. Olugbenga Ige, serving as the Chief Host.
Dr. Faboyede also outlined the schedule for the conference, noting that participants are expected to arrive on Sunday, November 3, with the official opening ceremony slated for Monday, November 4. Conference sessions will follow on Tuesday, November 5, taking place at the University’s Multipurpose Hall.
The University is named after the late Michael Adekunle Ajasin, a revered statesman and former governor of Ondo State.
