Five politicians seeking to contest the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Assembly primary election in Niger State have been disqualified.
This followed their disqualification by the party screening commitee at the state secretariat in Minna.
Chairman PDP screening committee Nasiru Goshi who stated this while addressing newsmen in Minna, Niger state capital, explained that they were disqualified due to; tax evasion, inability to tender their resignation letters, as well as lack of minimum qualification of secondary school certificate.
According to him over 191 National Assembly aspirants have been successfully screened, while the screening for aspirants of the State Assembly has begun.
Goshi however gave an assurance that members of the committee will not witch-hunt any aspirant instead will diligently discharge their duties.
